Falcons Win Streak Snapped in Loss to Humber

(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Men's Baseball team (7-5) had their seven game win streak come to an end on Wednesday night at Pulham Park. The Falcons dropped two games to the Humber Hawks (8-3) by scores of 11-2 and 15-5.

The Hawks got on the board first in the second inning, scoring a run on a sacrifice fly. In the fourth frame, Humber added three more runs to extend their lead to 4-0. Faris Adamou (Mississauga, ON) was walked, then stole second to put the Falcons in scoring position in the bottom of the fifth. Local rookie Riley Garinger singled to advance Adamou to third. Adamou stole home to give the Falcons their first run of the game. Garinger then stole third and scored on a sacrifice fly to make the score 4-2. Fanshawe pitcher Noah Campagnolo (Guelph, ON) (2-1) took the loss and Humber's Corey Vandegraaf (2-0) notched the win.

Humber continued where they left off in the second game of the doubleheader, scoring two in the opening inning to take an early lead. The Hawks would add another two to the scoreboard before Fanshawe's Greg Van Boekel (Woodstock, ON) hit an RBI single to score Riley Garinger (London, ON) in the fourth inning. Jamie Chopping-Lawlor (Cambridge, ON) then hit a 2-RBI single to center field to cut Humber's lead to 4-3.
