(London, Ontario) – At Fanshawe Athletics annual Falcons Fest event on Saturday afternoon at Labatt Park, Fanshawe (1-5) fell to the Durham Lords (4-6) by scores of 7-0 and 2-0.

The majority of the opening game was a defensive battle between the Falcons and the Lords, as neither team scored a run in the first five innings. In the top of the sixth, Durham got hot at the plate, scoring six runs to take a 6-0 lead. The Lords added another run in the seventh inning to make the final score 7-0. The winning pitcher for Durham was Jason Crouse (2-1) who went the distance only giving up two Falcons hits. London native Kale Bilger (0-1) took the loss for Fanshawe.

In game two of the doubleheader, the Falcons once again struggled at the plate. Durham would score a single run in both the second and third inning to take a 2-0 lead over the home team. Both starting pitchers were outstanding and threw complete games. First year Falcons pitcher Joe Blakely (Belleville, ON) dropped to 1-2 on the season and Durham's Jake Legros (1-3) notched the win.

Fanshawe is back in action tomorrow against the St. Clair Saints (4-3) at Labatt Park. General admission is $5 or free with FANCard. The doubleheader game times are 1pm and 3:30pm.
