Softball Sweep 6 Games on Weekend

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Women's Softball team finished their home stand a perfect 6-0 sweeping doubleheaders from Mohawk College (Hamilton) on Friday before taking a pair from Conestoga College (Kitchener) on Saturday and Durham College (Oshawa) on Sunday. This moves the Saints into 1st Place in the OCAA standings with a 10-2 overall record.

Saints pitcher Sara Stiller (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) pitched a complete game 3-hitter Friday night in a 2-0 win and received run support from Jordyn Clark (Leamington, ON) and Megan Lumley (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) who both drove in a run.  In the nightcap Olivia Elliott (Oakville, ON) picked up the win in the mercy shortened affair as St. Clair banged out 14 hits in the 11-1 victory.

On Saturday St. Clair played only 5 innings to pick up another 11-1 mercy win with a 17-hit attack over Conestoga.  Megan Lumley, Jordan Taylor (Lasalle, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova) and Rya Cowan (Lasalle, ON/Sandwich) each had 3 hits with Olivia Elliott surrendering no hits in 4 innings of work on the pitching rubber.  The Saints needed to come from behind in the second game for the 11-7 win with Lumley and Cowan each notching 3 hits again.

St. Clair took another pair of games Sunday from Durham with 2-1 and 8-5 verdicts.  Elliott pitcher herself to her 3rd win of the weekend in the opener while Stiller picked up 3rd win on the mound to cap the doubleheader sweep.

The Saints are home next weekend for doubleheaders Saturday versus Seneca College (North York) and Humber College (Etobicoke) on Sunday.  Game times are 12:00 and 2:00pm and will be played at Mic Mac Park Little League Diamond #2.
