Women's Volleyball Improve to 5-1

The St. Clair women's volleyball team was on the road this weekend to take on Cambrian College and College Boreal in Sudbury. The Saints came away with two solid wins.

 

On Saturday, St. Clair defeated the Cambrian Golden Shield by a score of 3-1. Set scores were 22-25, 25-20, 25-23 and 25-16. Middle Kiana Gelissen (LaSalle; Sandwich Secondary) had a great match with 6 kills, 4 service aces and 4 stuff blocks. Jessica Masse (Cottam; Essex District) chipped in with 7 kills, 2 service aces and 4 stuff blocks.

 

On Sunday the Saints took down the College Boreal Viperes 3-0. Set scores were 25-12, 25-10, and 25-15. Sam Gerbig (Charlottetown; Exploits Valley High) led the way offensively for St. Clair with 6 kills on 13 attacks, 6 service aces, 1 stuff block and 3 digs.

 

With the two wins the Saints record improved to 5-1 on the season. St. Clair is ranked 2nd in Ontario and 10th in Canada.

 

The Saints are next in action on Sunday, November 25th when they travel to Kitchener to take on the Conestoga Condors.
