Men’s Basketball Drill Fanshawe at Home

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Basketball team came out firing Friday night and in front of a raucous SportsPlex home crowd beat Fanshawe College (London) by a score of 86-75.  The Saints now own an 8-10 record in the OCAA's West Division and are inching closer to the playoffs.

St. Clair was up 21-5 before Fanshawe had a chance to breath and the Saints led 25-13 after the first quarter.  Extending their lead to 46-25 by halftime St. Clair had already made 7 triples with David Gomez Jr. (Pontiac, MI) leading the charge with 18 points by the intermission.  Another solid quarter in the third allowed the Saints to go up by as much as 30 points and they cruised to the victory down the stretch.  Pushing the ball with ease in transition St. Clair scored 29 points off 22 Fanshawe turnovers.

Gomez finished with a game high 27 points while adding 9 assists for St. Clair.  Jalen Sykes (Redford, MI) potted 14 points to go with 9 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots while Nik Veigli (Cottam, ON/Essex District) chipped in with 12 for the Saints.

Fanshawe's Chris Parker (Toledo, OH) scored 17 points in a losing cause.
