Men's Volleyball Fall to Knights

Windsor, ON - The St. Clair men's volleyball team began their second half OCAA regular season schedule at home on Sunday afternoon and suffered a tough loss to the Niagara College Knights (Welland, ON) by a score of 3-1

Set scores for Niagara were 25-20, 15-25, 26-24 and 25-20. The turning point in the match was in the third set when the Saints were up 24-20 but lost 6 straight points to drop the set and turn the momentum.  Second  year outside hitter Frankie Friesen (Staples; Tibury District) led the way with 19 kills, 4 stuff blocks, and 7 digs. Rookie outside hitter Logan Ondricko (Belle River; St. Anne's) had a great match as well with 8 kills, 3 stuff blocks, and 2 digs. Rookie setter Simran Pahal (Kitchener; Huron Heights) had a solid match as well moving the ball around well with 30 assists and also picking up 9 digs.

With the loss St. Clair's record dropped to 4-6 while Niagara improved to 7-3.  The Knights are currently ranked 5th in the OCAA. The Saints are next in action on Saturday, January 18 when they travel to Sudbury to take on the College Boreal Viperes.
