Men’s Basketball End Road Trip with Win at Conestoga

Kitchener, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Basketball team capped a strong showing on the road this weekend with a convincing 95-81 win over Conestoga College in Kitchener Sunday afternoon.  The Saints now own a 7-10 record in the OCAA's West Division and a modest 3-game win streak.  

St. Clair held a slim 21-19 lead over Conestoga after the first quarter but increased the gap to 48-39 by halftime.  The Saints went on a scoring binge in the third quarter however and were able to grow their advantage to 26 points midway through the period. From that point St. Clair was able to relax down the stretch for the win getting all 14 players dressed into the game.  St. Clair was able to outscore Conestoga 19-3 in points off the bench and made 13 triples while shooting nearly 45% from distance.   

St. Clair's Jalen Sykes (Redford, MI) scored a game high 23 points to go with 6 rebounds and 4 assists while point guard David Gomez Jr. (Pontiac, MI) scored 19 points adding 5 assists.  Glynn Willis-Paris (Windsor, ON/Kennedy Collegiate) had another fine performance with 19 points along with 7 rebounds to go with 3 blocked shots.  Ali Mansour (Windsor, ON/Kennedy Collegiate) chipped in with 11 points for the Saints off the bench.   

Conestoga's Avery Sutton (Kitchener, ON) equaled the game high with 23 points in the loss.

The St. Clair Men's Basketball team return home Friday, Feb. 8th to host Fanshawe College (London) with tip time at 8:00pm.  The St. Clair College Alumni Association will be sponsoring Free Admission as the Saints will also be celebrating their graduating players as part of Senior Day.
