SARNIA, ON: The #8 Lambton Lions made the most of home court advantage and knocked off the Georgian Grizzlies 84-76 in front of a huge crowd on Campus. Georgian, 9-3 in their last 12 after the return of All-Canadian Teq Zwarych, held a significant size advantage but seemed to struggle with the Lions in the open court early, trailing 45-25 at the half. But, the Grizzlies came out hard in the second half and trailed by just four before a Mike Lucier three gave the home side some breathing room with a couple minutes left.

Lucier had a huge game for Lambton as he scored 23 and pulled down 20 rebounds. Jason Marshell had his best game of 2016, scoring 23 on five three balls while pulling down seven rebounds. Branden Padgett scored 16 and pulled down four boards while Shawn Hill put up an important double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Tony Smith and Will Lara-Caston rounded out scoring with five and two each. "Today was the culmination of a very tough week of work for our guys," says Coach Grant. "We knew Georgian was big and we had to try a number of looks to try and stop them. Our guys stepped out to the challenge we put in front of them and played four different defenses excellently today. It's back to the drawing board for La Cite starting tomorrow. We will have the guys ready to go."

Lambton will play the La Cite Coyotes at Humber College on Friday night at 6pm. ‪
