North York, ON – The St. Clair College Women's Softball team moved their record to 18-2 after taking a doubleheader from Seneca College in North York on Sunday while holding them scoreless posting 11-0 and 7-0 results.

In game one St. Clair was up 6-0 after four innings but used a 5-run fifth to secure the mercy differential and then closed out the home team in the bottom half for the shut-out win.  Amy Claydon (Cambridge, ON) claimed the pitching victory in four innings of work allowing only a single hit to go with three strikeouts but helped her cause with a pair of doubles at the plate and drove in a pair of runs.  Shae-Lyn Murphy (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) had four RBI from a single and double with Sierra Baltzer (LaSalle, ON/Sandwich) clubbing three hits including a triple while adding two RBI for the Saints.  Julia Brusseau (Lakeshore, ON/St. Anne) and Bryanna Kressler (Kitchener, ON) each also tripled as part of their two hits apiece.

Game two went the scheduled seven innings but with a similar result that saw the Saints take a 2-0 lead after the second but a 5-run fifth completed the scoring.  Mckenna Copley (Dover Centre) pitched five strong innings for the win only giving up a hit and a walk while fanning seven Seneca batters.  Murphy had another strong game offensively with three hits including a homerun and two RBI.  Jacklyn Yewchyn (Windsor, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova) had two hits as did Ireland Toohey (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) for St. Clair.

The Saints will look to defend their CCSA National Championship this coming weekend in Victoria, BC beginning their round robin play against Humber College (Etobicoke) on Friday.
