ETOBICOKE, ON: Day two of the 2015 OCAA men's championship began with the first game of the consolation semi-finals. This match featured the Niagara Knights and the Fleming Knights.
Despite losing their first matches, both teams still had a chance to play in the fifth-place game. Niagara was shutout by the West division champion Fanshawe Falcons, while Fleming narrowly lost to Humber College.
In a win or go home game, Fleming came out strong, putting the pressure on Niagara early and often. At the 13 minute mark, Fleming was awarded a free kick just beyond the 18–yard box. Matthew Caguna's shot tailed away from Niagara's goalkeeper Sam Robson, giving Fleming an early 1-0 lead.
Just before time expired in the first half, Fleming's Jaiden Miller-Foster ran deep into Niagara's zone and drilled a shot passed Robson, making the score 2-0. For Miller-Foster, it was his third goal of the tournament, matching his total in eight games during the regular season.
Niagara started the second-half more aggressive, knowing their medal chances were shrinking as each minute passed. Ife Lotanna Maduka and Alex Latham both had excellent chances for Niagara but were unable to get their shots on net.
Fleming secured the victory with a third goal in the 62nd minute. On another free kick, Fleming had cross through the box that found the head of Jamie Gilmore, his first goal of 2015.
Fleming will now advance to play the winner of between UTM Eagles and Sheridan Bruins.
Joyal Gurung (Fleming) and Connor Diacur (Niagara) were each named players of the game.
