Men’s Basketball Lose Regular Season Home Court Finale

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Basketball team were outshot down the stretch and lost 100-78 to Humber College (Etobicoke) Sunday afternoon in their final regular season game at the SportsPlex. The Saints still boast a 13-5 record in the OCAA's West Division with top seeding still very much up for grabs and two games left on their schedule.  Redeemer (14-4) sits ahead of the pack with Humber (14-5) in the mix.

In Sunday's loss St. Clair led 19-16 after the opening quarter but Humber started to gain steam overtaking the Saints 42-38 by halftime.  That was as close as it got the rest of the way with Humber shooting 58% in the third quarter followed by 65% in the fourth.  St. Clair could not keep pace shooting only 36% in the game overall.  Humber capitalized on 25 St. Clair turnovers to score 30 points in direct response to go with a 50-26 advantage in points in the paint.  St. Clair was also outpaced 51-32 in scoring off the bench.

Jesiah Deerr (Whitby, ON) had a solid game leading the Saints with 16 points and added 7 rebounds.  Glynn Willis-Paris (Detroit, MI/Kenney Collegiate) went for a double-double scoring 14 points to go with 10 rebounds and 3 blocked shots for St. Clair.  Daelyn Davis (Romulus, MI) and Husam Shallo (Toronto, ON) each also reached double figures for the Saints scoring 10 points apiece.

Humber's Jaylan Morgan (Brampton, ON) and Kevin Otoo (Toronto, ON) each scored 19 points in the win.

The Saints will complete their regular season on the road next weekend when they visit Redeemer University (Ancaster) on Saturday followed by a game at Conestoga College (Kitchener) on Sunday.
