Baseball 3-0 after Win at George Brown

Toronto, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Baseball team defeated George Brown College at Toronto's Christie Pits Park Sunday afternoon by a score of 6-2 bumping their record to 3-0 early in the OCAA season.

The Saints jumped to a quick 3-0 lead after two innings before allowing George Brown to score singles in the 4th and 5th innings making it just a 1-run ballgame. However, St. Clair responded with 2 runs in the 6th and another in the 7th to complete the scoring. 2nd year first baseman Michael McKay (Miramichi, NB) had a good night at the plate for the Saints going 2 for 3 including a solo home run and scored twice. St. Clair rookie shortstop Francisco Rivera (Hermosillo, Mexico) kept up his fine play with 2 hits and scored a run. But a complete game 5-hitter was turned in by Saints starting pitcher Luis Barrios (Cali, Colombia) who allowed just 2 runs and a walk while striking out 10 George Brown batters.

The St. Clair Baseball team goes on the road Wednesday to face OCAA Baseball newcomer Lambton College at Sarnia's Errol Russel Park in a doubleheader with game times of 6:00pm and 8:30pm.
