Baseball Take 4 in TO

Toronto, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Baseball team ran their record to 6-2 with a 4-game sweep in Toronto this weekend with doubleheader wins over Seneca College (North York) on Saturday at Bishop's Cross Park and George Brown College at Christie Pits Park on Sunday.

The Saints were 12-2 and 17-1 winners over Seneca Saturday with Micah Harris (Cottam, ON) and Evan Ferguson (Windsor, ON/St. Joseph's) each earning a win on the mound. Brendan Renaud (Amherstburg, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova) and Miguel Cienfuegos (Laval, QC) each had 4 hits in the doubleheader to pace the St. Clair offensive attack.

St. Clair were 13-0 winners in the opener Sunday over George Brown but managed a 4-2 win in the final game to complete the weekend. Taylor Pappin (Brantford, ON) got the win on the mound in the opener giving up 4 hits in 5 innings while striking out 9 batters. Kyle Gagnon (Belle River, ON/St. Anne) and Miguel Cienfuegos each had a home run in the first game. Michael Beale (Windsor, ON/WF Herman) was the Saints pitching winner in the final game spreading out 7 hits over 5 innings with Roberto Duncan (Panama City, Panama) hitting a round tripper for insurance late.

St. Clair has an exhibition game at Henry Ford CC in Dearborn Wednesday before resuming their league schedule Saturday at Humber College (Etobicoke) and then at Durham College (Oshawa) on Sunday.
