Huge Comback Win for Women's Volleyball

Windsor, ON- The St. Clair College women's volleyball team had a huge comeback win on Saturday afternoon at the Sportsplex over the Niagara Knights. The Saints dropped the first two sets of the match and were also down 11-4 in the 5th set but somehow managed to win the match 3-2.

Set scores for the Saints were 18-25, 20-25, 25-19, 25-22 and 16-14

Second year outside hitter Te-Anna Stephenson (Whitby; Sinclair Secondary) led the way offensively with 20 kills, 4 stuff blocks, 2 service aces and 14 digs. Middle Kianna Gelissen (LaSalle; Sandwich Secondary) had a solid game as well with 6 kills and 3 digs. Middle Andie Suthers (Tecumseh; Belle River District) chipped in with 5 kills, 1 service ace, 2 stuff blocks and 4 digs. Libero Julie Ann Milling (Woodstock; Woodstock Collegiate Institute) had a huge defensive game with 20 digs including a few spectacular ones after some hard kills by the Knights.

With the win the Saints improved to 7-1 on the season while Niagara fell to 5-4.  St. Clair is ranked 2nd in Ontario and 9th in the Canada while the Knights are currently ranked 6th in the OCAA.

The Saints are next in action on Sunday, December 2nd when they host the Sheridan Bruins at 1 pm at the Sportsplex in their final game of the fall semester.
