Soccer Falls to Falcons, Miss Playoffs

SARNIA,ON - With their season hanging in the balance, the Men's Soccer team hosted the Fanshawe Falcons in a must-win contest. Fanshawe came into this affair tied for 1st in the West, meaning the Lions were going to have to play their best game. The game was back and forth, with both teams creating excellent scoring opportunities and some stellar defense keeping it close. Ultimately the Falcons came away with the 2-1 victory, crushing the final chance at playoffs for the Lions.

Lambton will travel to Conestoga on Wednesday for their final game of the season, hoping to end the season on a high note. Lambton beat the Condors via forfeit earlier in the year 1-0.

The Lady Lions also faced the Falcons on Saturday, hoping to play spoiler against the high-powered Fanshawe offense. The Lambton defense played a strong game all the way through, but the offensive attack of the Lady Falcons proved too much as they fell by a score of 3-0. The Lady Lions will head to Conestoga on Tuesday for their final game of the season with their eyes on that elusive first victory.
