Lambton denied 3rd Win In Toronto

TORONTO, ON - The season struggles continued for the Lady Lions this weekend as the headed to Toronto to battle two ends of the spectrum in the West.

Saturday was a tip-off against the #1 Humber Hawks, who came in with a perfect 5-0 record. The proved yet again why they had the top seed as they took control of the game from the opening tip, en route to a dominating 91-49 win. Lambton closed the game out on a strong note, outscoring the Hawks 20-12 in the 4th quarter and giving the Lions some positives to work from. Madisyn Campbell was on point, putting up 21 points for Lambton. Christine Fleischer notched 12 while Lauren Van Leerzem collected 10 points. Jordi Pisiak had 4 and Maddi Basso had 2 to round out the scoring.

Sunday saw the Lions and Bruins engage in a classic battle. The game was full of large runs for both squads, with the lead changing hands multiple times. Lambton held the early advantage after the 1st quarter 18-17 but more back and forth play gave the Bruins the 31-27 advantage heading into the half. A 13-0 run by Sheridan pushed their lead up to 16, but Lambton battled back with an 11-0 run of their own, closing the gap and swinging momentum in their favour. Unfortunatley it wasn't enough as the Bruins held on for the 57-49 victory.

Lambton will take a break this week before hosting the Redeemer Royals on Tuesday December 6. Tip-Off is set for 6pm.
