The Storyline
Humber softball (10-2, 1st OCAA) will play its second last home series of the season Sept. 24 against Mohawk (4-6, 6th OCAA).  The doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.

Last Time Out
Humber split the home series with St. Clair (8-6, 3rd OCAA) on Sept. 21. Presly Buchanan picked up her fourth win of the season in the 10-0 mercy victory and recorded her first career OCAA home run at the dish.

Late in game two, Sarah Franchetto hit a two-run home run to tie the game, but Humber's defence wasn't able to keep the Saints off the board and the Hawks lost 5-2.

Scouting Mohawk

  • The Mountaineers are coming off two straight wins – picking up all four victories over the winless Seneca Sting.
  • Humber is 27-3 all-time against Mohawk, including 15-0 in the regular season at home.
  • The Hawks swept the series at Mohawk to begin the year, outscoring the Mountaineers 14-2 in Hamilton on Sept. 8

Arms Race
Presly Buchanan and Meagan Muir lead the league with four wins, each. As a team, Humber leads the league with a microscopic 1.54 ERA through 12 games.

Connorvale Crushers
Humber's three home runs – all coming at home – is tied for the most in the OCAA.

Murphy Magic
Senior Meaghan Murphy is leading the league in hitting with a .486 batting average through 12 games. Murphy became just the fourth player in program history to collect 100 career hits – and now sits tied for third with former player of the year Aaliyah Davidson with 104 base knocks.

Sleeping Giants
As a collective, Humber's team batting average dipped to a season-low .290. Over the last three games, the Hawks collected 31 hits, raising the team average to a league-best .313.

What's Next?
Humber will begin a six-game road trip beginning with the Durham Lords (9-5, 2nd OCAA) on Oct. 2. Game one of the doubleheader is scheduled for 6 p.m.
