Fanshawe's Women’s Soccer Come Up Short to Saints

 (London, Ontario) – On Saturday, the Fanshawe Women's Soccer team was defeated 3-0 by the St. Clair Saints.

 

In the opening 45 minutes, St. Clair took control, scoring three goals. The Falcons struggled to see chances at the goal, as the shot attempts totaled 14-3 in the first half in favour of the Saints.

 

The Falcons came out strong in the second half, keeping the visitors from adding to their lead. Fanshawe goalkeeper Paige Seabrook (Sarnia, ON) had eight saves in the match. In the second half, the Birds, led by team captain Madilyn Michienzi (London, ON), had a few opportunities in front of the Saints net, however, were unable to capitalize.

 

Fanshawe will be back in action on Tuesday, September 19 at 5:00 p.m. when they travel to Sarnia, ON. The Falcons look to capture their first win of the season at Lambton College Soccer Field.
