Men's Soccer Improve Record to 5-2

The St. Clair College men's varsity soccer team continued their OCAA regular season on Saturday afternoon in Kitchener.

The Saints took on the Conestoga Condors and came away with a solid 5-0 win.  However it was a tale of two halves in this match. The Saints got off to a slow start in this game with the Condors attempting 10 shots in the first half compared to only 2 for St. Clair. Saint's keeper Haiden Gelinas (Windsor, St. Joseph's) had to be sharp making a couple tough saves in turning aside all 5 shots he faced. The match was tied 0-0 at the half.

The Saints woke up in the second half. Bastien Aguilera (Chili) got St. Clair on the scoreboard in the 47th minute. Michael Roncone (Windsor; St. Joseph's) put the Saints up 2-0 in the 54th minute. Aguilera made it 3-0 for St. Clair in the 61st minute as the Saints started to take control of the match. Tyrone Mulder (Chatham; Chatham-Kent) scored in the 71st minute to make it 4-0 and Muaz Mohammed (Sudan) finished off the scoring in injury time. St. Clair had 12 shot attempts in the second half compared to 3 for the Condors.

The St. Clair men are currently ranked 8th in the OCAA. With the win the Saints improved to 5-2 while Conestoga dropped to 3-4.

The Saints are next in action on Thursday night at 7 pm in their final regular season home game. St. Clair will be hosting the top ranked Fanshawe Falcons at the Libro Centre in Amherstburg on Breast Cancer Awareness night.
