VAUGHAN – On a warm fall afternoon, No. 10 Humber men's soccer (6-0-2, 2nd West) picked up three points after rolling the Sheridan Bruins (3-5, 5th West) at the Ontario Soccer Centre, 5-0. Exosse Kadiebue paced the way for the defending champions, recording two tallies, while Holger Xhameta picked up the win in net.

Match Recap

The sun shone bright, and the temperature soared, just like the Hawks, who started hot with a strong offensive presence.

In a little more than 10 minutes, the Hawks would come out of the gate. After great passes in the midfield, Matthew Laic hammered from 30 yards, finding the bottom-right corner of the net, scoring his first goal of the season, 1-0.

The first tally seemed to have stunned the Bruins, the Hawks had absolute ball possession and added another number to the board. At 23 minutes, Damion Kaye would find Christian Keshishian right next to the penalty arc; the second-year came inside and smashed a curve shot; the ball would warmly hit the right post before finding the back of the net. Humber led 2-0.

The number "two" did not last long on the board. After a great pass from magician Danny Medeiros, Exosse Kadiebue used his explosive footspeed to overcome Sheridan's defender in the right wing but was stopped with a penalty. Kadiebue stepped into the penalty mark and drove the ball to the back of the net. Humber would leave for the break ahead 3-0.

Despite a three-goal lead, the Hawks did not back off and remained strong in the second half. With a consistent offensive presence and the defenders on point, Humber dominated the match and the Bruins struggled to build up their offensive game.

At the 57-minute mark, Exosse Kadiebue fought hard for the ball in the midfield and scored his second tally of the day. After great moves inside the 18-yard box, Kadiebue brought the ball to his right foot, which may not be his dominant but still flawless, and drove the ball under the goalie to the back of the net. The Congolese-born now sits third in goals scored in the season.

Third-year goalkeeper Ezequiel Carrasco would come up clutch and make a sprawling save to keep Sheridan off the board after a powerful volley inside the penalty area.

The Hawks would smash another tally, with rookie Tomas Joseph scoring his first goal as a Humber Hawks player. The defending champions started and finished the match dominant, rolling Sheridan and extending its unbeaten streak to eight, 5-0.
