Men's Volleyball Clinch Playoff Spot

Windsor, ON- The St. Clair College men's volleyball team continued their second semester OCAA regular season schedule with a hard fought 3-1 win over the College Boreal Vipers on Saturday afternoon at the Sportsplex.

Set scores for the Saints were 19-25, 25-16, 25-18 and 25-16. Frankie Friesen (Staples; Tilbury District) had a big game with 16 kills on 29 attempts, 2 stuff blocks, and 10 digs. Michael Knight (LaSalle; Sandwich Secondary) had a huge match as well with 10 kills on 19 attempts, 8 service aces, 23 assists and 5 digs.

With the win the Saints improved to 4-13 on the season while Boreal fell to 1-16.  The win also clinched the final playoff spot in the OCAA West Division for St. Clair. The Saints will be on the road next Saturday to face the 1st place team in the East Division.

The Saints are next in action on Sunday afternoon at 2 pm when they host the Cambrian Golden Shield to conclude their OCAA regular season. Prior to the match, St. Clair will be recognizing their graduating seniors and head coach Rob Lynch who will be coaching his last home game for the Saints as he is stepping down after the season.
