TOUGH 4 SET LOSS FOR THE LANCERS

TOUGH 4 SET LOSS FOR THE LANCERS

The Lancers were back home on Saturday February 19th where they hosted the Algonquin Wolves in a monumental game that saw the return of fans to the Lancerdome.

Comiung off a tough loss the week before against the George Brown Huskies, the Lancers looked solid out of the gate with agressive offense and inspired defence. Charlie Smith showed off vastly improved blocking abilities while first year setter Zack Cota ran a great offense against a tough Wolves team. After winning the first set 25-17, the Lancers struggled to continue their momentum into the second and quickly found themselves down 3-0. The Lancers battled back with 5 straight points to regain the lead, but couldn't hold onto it. From there, the Wolves took over the match with 25-14, 25-18 and 25-15 set wins to take the game 3-1.

Smith had 6 blocks, 2 aces and 2 kills in the match for 10 points while Pedro Casellatto reorded 9 kills, 1 ace and 2 block for 12 total points.

The Lancers hit the road for their norther swing trip when they take on Georgian Grizzlies Saturday February 26th and Canadore Panthers on Sunday February 27th.
