Women's Soccer Playoff Bound

Women's Soccer Playoff Bound

The St. Clair College women's soccer team wrapped up their OCAA regular season on Friday night with a dominant 10-0 win over the Lambton Lions (Sarnia) at Acumen Stadium.

Victoria Walsh (Georgetown; Christ the King) led the way for the Saints with 5 goals and 2 assists. Jessica Doll (LaSalle; Villanova) and Briana Kinsley-Clough (Georgetown; Christ the King) each had 2 goals with a single going to Alexis Costantin.

With the win the Saints end the season with a record of 7 wins, 2 ties and a loss.  The women ended up with 7 shutouts out of their 10 matches.  It was a huge turnaround season for the Saints who just missed the playoffs last year with a record of 2 wins, 7 losses and a tie.

St. Clair has locked up a home playoff game by guaranteeing themselves at least second place in the OCAA West. They could end up in first depending on the results of the Humber match on Saturday night. Either way the Saints will be hosting a playoff game on Wednesday, October 18 at 3 pm at Acumen Stadium.

It was also Senior Night as the Saints honoured graduating captain Alec Habash prior to the match.
