Women's Soccer to Play for OCAA Bronze

Toronto (ON) The St. Clair women's soccer team were in Toronto on Friday to take part in the OCAA Championship at the Ontario Soccer Centre.

The Saints took on the top ranked Seneca Sting and suffered a tough 4-0 loss. Seneca is ranked 1st in Ontario and 2nd in Canada.

St. Clair played with the Sting for most of the first half but Seneca scored in the 45th minute to go up 1-0. The Saints were still in the match until the 71st minute when one of the Saints had a serious injury and the game had to be delayed waiting for EMS. The prognosis for the player sounds very positive at this point.

However, the delay and injury seemed to shake up the young St. Clair squad and the veteran Seneca took over from that point scoring three more goals in the last 20 minutes to win the match 4-0. Seneca will now face the Humber Hawks for gold while St. Clair will take on the Durham Lords for OCAA Bronze.

This is the first appearance in the Final Four for St. Clair since 2015 when they won Bronze. Game time is set 1 pm on Saturday.
