MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SWEEP STING AT HOME
Aisosa Omoruyi had 31 assists as the Grizzlies defeated the Seneca Sting 3-0 on Wednesday night at home.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team hosted the Seneca Sting on Wednesday night at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie.
The Grizzlies were able to make quick work of the Sting, sweeping them in three sets 3-0. Set scores were 25-14, 25-22, 25-18.
Kaelan Kloetstra (London) led the Grizzlies in scoring once again with 13 points from 11 kills and two aces. He is currently ranked fifth in the entire OCAA averaging 4.6 points-per-set.
Samuel Thorup (St. Marys) enjoyed another solid game for the Grizzlies as the veteran scored 12 points from 10 kills and two aces. Aisosa Omoruyi (Brampton) made his first start of the season and registered a team high 31 assists.
The Grizzlies improved their regular season record to 9-3 as they move into a tie for second place in the OCAA east division standings with the Canadore Panthers. The Grizzlies extended their home winning streak to 33 games.
Georgian will be back in action this Saturday, Jan. 25 when they host the Loyalist Lancers at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
