Okeke, Grizzlies Provide Pest Control Against Sting
The Georgian Grizzlies Men's Volleyball team hosted the Seneca Sting on Friday evening.
What Happened: The Georgian Grizzlies Men's Volleyball team hosted the Seneca Sting on Friday evening for Bell Let's Talk day, a rescheduled match from earlier in the week that was postponed due to poor weather.
The second match of the evening started off in favour of the Grizzlies, an aggressive first place team put the pressure on Seneca from the start as the Grizzlies tallied point after point. A few windows of opportunity presented themselves to the Sting, but a strong defense and even stronger offense by Georgian sealed the match in three sets, all with a final score of 25-21.
Georgian's CJ Okeke put the work in during this match, registering fifteen kills, five digs, and four blocks, with Gage McCurdy putting up nine kills, seven digs, and one ace. On the Sting's side of the court, Peter Ostranski-Ayles contributed nine kills and four digs for Seneca.
Teams came together before the match to take a group photo in support of Mental Health as part of Georgian's involvement in Bell Let's Talk day. Between the women and men's match, the Grizzlies were joined by the Mental Health and Well-Being team to highlight some mental health statistics, as well as some initiatives and support systems that Georgian has available for students.
