Grizzlies Continue Streak Into New Year
Grizzlies (9-0) faced the Canadore Panthers (7-2) on Saturday afternoon.
The Georgian Grizzlies (9-0) travelled to North Bay to face the Canadore Panthers (7-2) on Saturday for their final game of the fall semester.
What Happened: In their final match of the fall semester, the Georgian Grizzlies had some of their closest sets of the season. Georgian took the first set 25-23, but it was Canadore who came back with a vengeance in the second set, taking it 25-20. Feeling some pressure, Georgian proceeded to take the third set with a more commanding 25-17 score. In the final set, Georgian once again put the Panthers on their heels and finished off the match 25-20, extending their win streak to 9 in a row and going into the Winter semester undefeated.
CJ Okeke put 12 kills and 1 ace on the board for Georgian Gage McCurdy also contributed 5 kills, on Canadore's side, it was Lane Cote with 13 kills as the Panthers' key contributor.
What's Next: Georgian hosts Canadore's women on Wednesday, January 11th at the Georgian College Athletic and Fitness Centre at 6PM, with the men's game set to follow at 8PM.
