The Oshawa, Ont., born native grew up in Prince Albert, Ont. Samantha Langford began her exceptional four-year collegiate career at Durham College in 1993.

Her 1997 graduation consisted of two diplomas, one in Sports Administration and one in Marketing.

As an athlete, Langford made an instant impact in the OCAA, participating in two different sports. As a member of both Durham's volleyball and fastball teams, she led the Lords to a provincial OCAA silver medal in both sports her first year as an athlete.

In four years with the Lords, she won five OCAA provincial medals - two silver in volleyball and two silver and one gold in fastball. She was named an OCAA League All-Star in women's volleyball twice; women's volleyball Team MVP twice; and was named the OCAA All-Star Game MVP in 1996.

She capped off her award winning collegiate career by having her Durham College volleyball uniform officially retired by the Athletic Department.

Langford was inducted into the Durham College Hall of Fame in 2005.
