Jason Mesa arrived at Humber College as the men's soccer program began to compete on the provincial stage every season. From the beginning, Jason displayed leadership qualities in a quiet and humble manner, understanding the game so well and willing to play wherever needed.

Playing numerous positions throughout an illustrious career, Jason's dominance on the pitch began to emerge once becoming a fixture as a sweeper. Jason's steadiness and composure on Humber's backline gave the whole team confidence. Jason's quiet leadership united the team and Jason's humbleness let others take the credit.

Despite playing a position that received little to no recognition, Jason quietly led the Hawks to the program's second national championship in 2001, as Humber only surrendered one tally in six post-season matches. Overall Humber had a 47-5-6 (.862) record in Jason's years on the team, and 33 clean sheets.

Jason was a member of five OCAA championship teams in outdoor and indoor soccer, earning seven provincial medals overall. In 2000, Jason was named a CCAA Championship All-Star and OCAA League All-Star.

Jason rejoined the Hawks in 2007, this time as an assistant coach, and has been a consistent fixture ever since. Jason has played in major role in helping Humber capture eight CCAA national titles and 12 OCAA outdoor gold medals. Jason was inducted into the Humber Varsity Hall of Fame in 2009.
