Michael G. Harris of Niagara Falls, Ont., was one of Niagara's most prolific scorers in the history of its men's basketball program. He was described as a coach's dream both on and off the court.

His work ethic and desire for success combined with his intense competitive nature facilitated Michael's basketball life. A leader both offensively and defensively, Harris was a combination of superb athleticism and outstanding physical conditioning. He was a proven competitor, yet a quiet leader who let his actions speak for him.

In his sophomore year Harris led his team in scoring, finishing second in the West region, third in Ontario with 22.4 PPG and third in three-point field goals. As a junior, Michael was second in team scoring and fourth in the West region with an average of 18.4 PPG leading the Knights to their first appearance at the OCAA championship.

In 1996-97 he was named co-team MVP and represented Niagara College on the West region all-star team. The 1997-98 season saw more success as he was once again named team MVP, started in the OCAA all-star game and was selected as an OCAA West region league all-star. In 1997-98 he was named Niagara's Male Athlete of the Year, the highest athletic honour the college bestows.
