Gerald (Jerry) Serviss began his OCAA men's hockey coaching career at St. Clair College in 1975.

In his first year as head coach, the Saints topped off a perfect regular season (20-0) by winning their second consecutive OCAA championship. At nationals, the Saints took home the OCAA's first-ever CCAA championship gold medal.

The next season, Serviss led his Saints to their third consecutive OCAA gold medal. Over the next five years under Serviss' leadership, St. Clair hockey continued to be a force in the OCAA men's hockey league. The team won another OCAA gold medal, along with two more silver medals.

Over his career, Serviss' OCAA regular season record was a remarkable 100-24.

In 1975-76, he was recognized as CCAA coach of the year.
