Sting Knock of Bruins

The Seneca Sting picked up their first win of the season with a 23-12 win over the Sheridan Bruins.

Kyle Spataro opened the scoring early for the Sting with a try on the far right side. The convert was unsuccessful as the Sting took a 5-0 lead.

The Bruins answered moments later with a try by Cory Williams. Like the Sting, the Bruins failed to convert the kick, leaving the match tied at five.

Excellent ball movement led to the Sting taking a 10-5 lead as Drez Keshane-Wilson earned his first points of the season.

The Sting took a 15-5 lead into the half following a Luke Travell, his second of the season.

The Bruins scored early in the second half to cut into the lead on a try by Michael Galipo and a successful convert by Matt DaCosta.

With just over ten minutes remaining, Roy Walters converted a penalty kick to give the home team an 18-12 lead.

Johnny Opoku completed the scoring the final minutes with a try for his team leading 15th point (3 tries).

The Sting would keep the Bruins on their side of half for the remainder of the match until the final whistle.

The Sting improved to 1-2 on the season with the win while the Bruins fell to 2-2.
