Slow Second Half Grounds Sting

Slow Second Half Grounds Sting

The Seneca Sting were in complete control through twenty minutes Friday night against the Fleming Knight. The final twenty minutes were a different story as the Knights defeated the Sting 80-75.

The Sting led 27-13 after the first quarter and expanded their lead to 49-32 at halftime. Jermaine Hall (Vaughan) scored 23 of his 31 points in the first half to pace the Sting to the lead.

The second half saw the Knights open with a trifecta of three-point play opportunities, converting two of the three to cut into the Sting lead. Mike Adamo's bruising presence inside the paint in the second half created problems for the Sting who scored just eleven field goals in the second half.

The Knights scored the first eight points of the third quarter, cutting the lead to 51-43 before the Sting rebounded with eight straight points.

Trailing 75-66 late, the Knights finished the game on a 16-0 run thanks to big fourth quarters by Shane Howell and Jake Buchan.

Hall led the Sting with 31 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Malik Brown (Toronto) added 15 points along with 4 assists and 3 steals. Tevin Goodridge (Montreal) scored 7 points to go along with his team-leading 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Joshua Yorke-Frazer (Rexdale) added 5 points and 7 assists and a game-high 6 steals.
