Colts Drop a Close Game to the Sting

Colts Drop a Close Game to the Sting

By: Pedro Casellatto

North York, ON - The Centennial Women's Volleyball team battled but fell to the Seneca Sting in the first away game. The game was marked by a few errors on both sides, but the Sting dominated the game with aggressive side-outs and serves.

The first set was not good for the Colts, and with many mistakes happening, they were not able to equalize the consistent game the Sting was playing. The second set was a reflection of their performance in the first set, from which they were still recovering and trying to find a way to get their offensive system going. The Colts' third-year player, CL Viloria, helped the team get back in the game in the third set, scoring in important moments.

The Colts took the third set with a score of 30-28, which gave them energy to get into the fourth set with momentum on their side. They started really strong, taking the lead up until the 20th point. Towards the end of the game, Sting's player, Jess Garcia, scored important points and helped the Sting take back the lead and end the game in four sets.

It was an overall positive performance by the Colts, and it was clear to them what they need to work on moving forward. They will be back in action next Wednesday when they face the Fleming Phoenix in Peterborough.
