Panthers Snap Colts Win Streak

Panthers Snap Colts Win Streak

North Bay, ON - The Centennial Women's Volleyball team fought hard but could not match the energy level demonstrated by the Canadore Panthers. After fighting back two sets, they fell to the Panthers in the tiebreak and got handed their third loss of the season.

The Colts started the game slow, which has happened in the past few matchups and is a problem they have been dealing with. With many errors, they played behind the scoreboard and could not get any momentum to fight back the balanced attack coming from the Panthers' side. They had to find another way to get out of that situation in order to take that game to the tiebreak.

In the fourth set, the Colts' block picked up, and they created more transition opportunities. CL Viloria had an incredible nine blocks during the game, while in the back, Isabella Heath defended many balls, helping the Colts get back in the game. However, the momentum did not seem to be the same for the tiebreak. The Panthers dominated with a spread offence, which the Colts were not able to match. Both teams have now the same record, and every result will be key for the Colts to secure fourth place.

The Colts will be back in action this Thursday when they travel looking to bounce back against the Durham Lords. It will be a game to revitalize their energy and help them get back on the winning streak.
