Centennial Glides into the Playoffs with a Commanding Win

SCARBOROUGH - Tarun Singh had 36 assists in a big 3-0 win for the Centennial Colts over the La Cite Coyotes in Friday night men's volleyball action. Singh continued to be the ultimate team player for Centennial. In only his sixth game this season, he has proven in a short amount of time how valuable of a setter he is.

There were plenty of great plays from both teams that made the first set a dramatic one. The Centennial Colts (11-6) painted the corners of the court, while the La Cite Coyotes (0-17) held up back-and-forth rallies. The Colts caught the Coyotes in serves. The Coyotes had six service errors in the first set, allowing the Colts to capitalize on their mistakes. It was a close affair, but the set went to Centennial 25-21.

Centennial blasted past La Cite in the second set. With only two attack errors and 13 kills, the Colts looked dominant. The Colts have averaged 10.29 kills per set before today's game, which ranks them fifth in the OCAA.  La Cite's energy on the court was no match for Centennial's hard-hitting flare, as they won the set 25-12.

The third set was not won as easily by the Colts. La Cite fought for every point they could get. La Cite came close, but ultimately Centennial took it 25-23.

Centennial has now won six of its last eight. They look to continue this hot streak going forward.

The men of Centennial volleyball will be back February 11th for their last game of the season against Algonquin.
