Colts Down Coyotes

Colts Down Coyotes

By: Pedro Casellatto

With another five-set win, the Centennial Women's volleyball team was able to secure their 4th win of the season against the La Cite Coyotes at home. With a late but effective performance, the Colts got another win, starting a new streak.

With a slow start, the Colts allow the Coyotes to win the first set. The energy seemed to be a little low, and it didn't pick up until the second set, when they came together for a late kickstart. The communication got better, which led to closing the second set with a six-point lead. At that point, the game was more balanced, and both teams were challenging each other with a very effective attack.

The Coyotes did not seem to back up. Supported by their stacked defensive system, they were able to stop the Colts in many attempts, playing very effective transitions. The Coyotes' libero, Mélany Delisle, had 15 digs and tested the Colts' patience. However, in the fourth and fifth set, the Colts stepped up, and the setter, Sophia Clement, effectively spread the game, creating deadly opportunities for the team.

Win two consecutive wins, the Colts build momentum for the next challenge. They will be travelling to Barrie, where they will be taking on the Georgian Grizzlies for the second time this season.
