Sting Squander Lead

The Seneca Sting battled back from an early deficit, but were unable to hold onto a second half lead, falling 22-12 to the Conestoga Condors.

The Condors opened the scoring eight minutes into the first half. Colton Bates converted a penalty kick to give the Condors a 3-0 lead.

Bates added to the Condors lead in the 19th minute on a twenty-plus yard run down the left side of the field. Bates' convert was successful to put the Condors ahead 10-0.

In the 34th minute, Dallas Yanke put the Sting on the scoreboard with a try. Yanke drove the Condors tacklers backwards before touching down for his first try of the season.

Early in the second half, Jake Moreau struck again for the Sting to pull the home team even. A successful convert by Roy Walters gave the Sting a 12-10 lead.

David Stumf restored the Condors' lead midway through the second half with a try just inbounds along the right sideline.

Bates put the match out of the reach with a try in the 36th minute and a convert to complete the scoring.

The loss dropped the Sting to 1-4 on the season while the Condors improved to 3-3.
