The Seneca Sting are back on top of the OCAA East Division following a three-set sweep over the La Cité Coyotes this afternoon.

One night after nearly falling to the 1-12 Algonquin Thunder, the Sting played like the top team in their division, powering past the Coyotes 25-20, 25-19, 25-11.

The third set saw the Sting take a 5-0 lead before expanding it to 14-5 en route to the convincing win.

Ishmael Kotey (Mississauga) led the Sting with 13 points thanks to 9 kills, 2 aces and 2 blocks. Toms Gaikis (Cesis, Latvia) added 9 kills, 3 digs and 3 blocks. Malik Welsh (Maple) and Sidney Wilding (Oshawa) each had 7 kills. Jorell Miller (Scarborough) was tops with 33 assists and 7 digs while Evan McMillan (Greenbank) also added 7 digs.

Michel Leblanc had 9 kills for the Coyotes as well as 5 digs and 3 blocks. Alexandre Henrie and Nicolas Choquette each added 8 kills and 4 digs. Zachary Lafontaine compiled 25 assists while Andrew Lamothe added 5 digs.

The Sting (12-2) return to the court next Friday, January 29 when they host the Centennial Colts (3-11) at 8:00pm. The Coyotes (4-10) travel to play the Colts tomorrow at 3:00pm.
