WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College badminton team played host this past weekend at the campus gym with the playing of the fourth annual Saints Badminton Open in a field of almost 200 participants. The tournament featured eight OCAA schools along with club players from across Ontario and the United States.

The best finishes by the St. Clair team were turned in by Vanessa Mina (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph's) and Queenie Quintanilla (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph's) who were semi-finalists in the women's doubles 'C' flight. Mina teamed up with Nick Gyemi (Belle River, Ont./Belle River District) and also went to the semi-finals in the mixed doubles 'D' flight event. Patrick Golen (Lasalle, Ont./St. Thomas of Villanova) was a men's singles consolation round semi-finalist.  Tracy Shi (Windsor, Ont./Vincent Massey) paired with Sunny Zheng (Georgian College) and were runners up in the women's doubles 'D' flight event.

This was the final event for the Saints in preparation for the OCAA West regional championships being held at Fanshawe College in London, Ont. Feb. 7-8.
