EDMONTON - After sweeping aside their opponents to win the gold
medal in the OCAA championships, Mohawk's women's doubles team lost
their final match at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association
Badminton National Championship in Edmonton March 1.
Victoria Hall and Kimloung Lim
turned in another outstanding performance in the national event,
going 5-0 in preliminary play and winning their semi-final. But
they dropped a three-set decision to Powin Lau and Jessica Yu of
the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) in the final.
The scores were 12-21, 21-19, 10-21.
The Mohawk men's doubles team of Adam D'Agostino
and Kianoosh Moslemi, who were 2-3 in the prelims,
still qualified for the semi-finals, but were defeated, leaving
them to play for a bronze medal. But they lost 19-21, 18-21 to Andy
Ko and Jake Perry from NAIT to finish in fourth place.
