MOHAWK BADMINTON TEAM WILL TRY FOR CCAA BRONZE ON SATURDAY

HALIFAX - Mohawk's Victoria Hall and Kianoosh Moslemi will vie for a bronze medal Saturday morning at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Badminton National Championships at the University of King's College in Halifax.

Friday afternoon, in the semifinals of mixed doubles, Moslemi and Hall lost in three sets to Melissa Liuw and Graydon Robb of Vancouver Island University. The scores were 21-17, 13-21 and 14-21. The Mohawk players made a valiant rally in the deciding set. After being down 3-11, they got back to within three points of their PacWest opponents, but couldn't complete the comeback.

Saturday morning Hall and Moslemi will meet Gillian Tetlow and Greg McGuire of Mount Allison University in the bronze medal match. The Mohawk duo defeated the New Brunswick pair in the round robin.

Meanwhile, Liuw and Robb will take on Humber's Tracy Wong and Adam Dong for the mixed doubles gold medal.
