ST. CLAIR'S NGUYEN ADVANCES TO BADMINTON PROVINCIALS

KITCHENER, Ont. - The St. Clair College badminton team competed at the West Regional this past weekend hosted by Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ont., and qualified their women's singles player Christina Nguyen (Mississauga, Ont.) for the OCAA provincial championships hosted by Georgian College in Barrie, Ont., from Feb. 17-18.

Nguyen placed third in her pool with a 3-2 record advancing to the crossover quarter-final where she defeated the University of Toronto-Mississauga entry. In the semifinals Nguyen lost in three sets to the Conestoga entry but won her third place match over the Fanshawe College entry qualifying her for the provincial championship.

Men's Doubles - Quoc Dat Dang/Peter Najem - 3-3 Record, 4th Place
Mixed Doubles - Josh Bluhm/Alyssa Chacon - 2-4 Record, 4th Place
Women's Singles - Sarah Guilbeault - 0-6 Record, 7th Place in Pool A
Men's Singles - Charles Mina - 1-5 Record, 6th Place in Pool B
Men's Singles - Bun Thoen Moung - 0-6 Record, 7th Place in Pool A
