2017 CCAA BADMINTON ALL-CANADIANS

TORONTO - The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association is proud to announce the 2017 CCAA Badminton All-Canadians.

The student-athletes, who are selected by their conference based on performance and contribution to the sport and their team, were honoured at a banquet during the 2017 CCAA Badminton National Championships at Seneca College in Toronto.

Here are the 2017 Badminton All-Canadians:

Owen Kurvits - Redeemer Royals

In his final varsity badminton season with the Royals, the three-time CCAA All-Canadian went 26-1 in men's singles play. Kurvits was victorious at the OCAA West Regional, Humber Invitational, Redeemer Royal Cup and Fanshawe Invitational. The CCAA Fair Play Award recipient from 2014 continues to be the model of respect and fair play.

Olivia Lei - Humber Hawks

Lei, the third ranked women's singles player in the country behind two Canadian Olympians, is now a three-time CCAA All-Canadian. She went undefeated against OCAA opponents this season in single's play. Lei, who spends her spare time coaching at the Su Badminton Club in Markham, Ont., consistently demonstrates sportsmanship toward opponents.
