ST. CLAIR 5, DURHAM 0

TECUMSEH, Ont. - The St. Clair College men's baseball team suffered their second loss of the regular season against Durham College today at Lacasse Park, splitting the doubleheader.

St. Clair (12-1) defeated Durham (9-4) by a score of 5-0.

The Saints broke open a tight ball game in the fourth inning with four runs. St. Clair pitcher Kyle Breitner was outstanding going the distance for the complete game shutout allowing only three Durham hits while striking out seven batters.

Durham (10-4) defeated St. Clair (12-2) by a score of 5-2 (8 innings).

A well-played game throughout made for an extra inning finish. Saints starting pitcher Mitch Kramer fared well until the sixth inning and then a few Durham hits seem to find holes. He pitched into the extra frame before giving way to relief pitcher Mike McCue but the damage was already done.

The St. Clair men's baseball team host Durham College again on Sunday in rescheduled rain-outs from earlier in the season with game times of 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at Lacasse Park in Tecumseh, Ont.

TECUMSEH, Ont. - The Durham College baseball team salvaged a split in their doubleheader on Saturday as they picked up a 5-2 extra inning victory over the first place St. Clair Saints.

In the bottom of the seventh inning with the game tied at 2-2, Durham outfielder Wesley Hardwick (Toronto) gunned out a St. Clair base runner at home to save the game and send it into extra innings. The Lords carried that momentum into the eighth as they scored three runs to pick up the win.

In addition to his defensive efforts, Hardwick also had a big day at the plate as he was 2-for-3 with a RBI.

Ilija Bozinovski (Ajax, Ont.) earned the win on the mound as he allowed one run in three innings of relief. A.J. Clark (Fonthill, Ont.) had the start for Durham and he allowed one run off of five hits in five innings of work.

Spencer Green (Mallorytown, Ont.) went 2-for-4 with two doubles while Ryan George (Whitby, Ont.) was 2-for-4 with one run and a RBI in the win.

The Lords bats were silent in Game 1 as they were shutout by a score of 5-0. Durham only managed three hits off of starting pitcher Kyle Breitner, who has not allowed a single earned run this season in 21 innings.

Ryan Norris (Oshawa, Ont.) was credited with the loss as he allowed all five runs in 3 2/3 innings of work. Dale Valade (North Bay, Ont.) pitched the remainder of the game and did not allow a single run.

The Lords (10-4) are a game and a half ahead of the Humber Hawks (8-5) for second place in the standings. St. Clair is in first place with a 12-2 record. With a sweep of St. Clair on Sunday, Durham can clinch the regular season pennant.
