HUMBER 11, GEORGE BROWN 1

TORONTO - George Brown came close to breaking an eight-game baseball losing streak, but a rally fell short in the second half of a doubleheader against Humber College.

Trailing 8-1 in the second game of their Ontario Colleges Athletic Association match-up, the Huskies put together a five-run rally in the fifth inning and had the tying run at the plate. But it wasn't to be as Dane Gordon was the final out of the inning. Andrew Murrell, the OCAA's top batter, had hit a bases loaded triple with two out allowing Gordon to come to the plate. Marc Anthony Clauser was the losing pitcher allowing only two earned runs with the Huskies making five errors in the game.

In the opener at Connorvale Park, it was all Humber coasting to an 11-1 win in a five-inning game. Gordon took the loss for George Brown and Murrell went hit-less ending his eight-game streak.

George Brown, which lost four-in a row to Humber in 76 hours, meets Seneca on Tuesday with both teams having 0-9 records. The game is at Wishing Well Park with first pitch at 7 p.m.
