GEORGE BROWN 5, SENECA 1

TORONTO - It happened - and rookie Andrew Murrell (Pickering, Ont.) had one of those career games for the George Brown Huskies.

Murrell tossed a three-hitter leading the Huskies to their first win of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association season with a 5-1 victory over the winless Seneca College Sting in a game at Wishing Well Park in Toronto.

For the first half of the season, Murrell led the OCAA in batting. This time, he did it from the pitcher's mound with 10 strikeouts - including striking out the side in the final inning with Seneca having the bases loaded.

Jason Fotes (Toronto) led George Brown batters, who had 11 hits in the game, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and a pair of RBI. Emilio Paglia (Maple, Ont.) went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and scored a run.

George Brown (1-9) plays Seneca (0-10) in Game 2 of their four-game season series on Sept. 24 also at Wishing Well Park.
