DURHAM 12, SENECA 2

OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College baseball team remained red hot in the late stages of the regular season as they recorded their fifth and sixth wins in seven games, sweeping their doubleheader against Seneca at Kinsmen Memorial Stadium this week. Durham would take game one by a score of 9-0 followed up with a 12-2 victory in game two.

Having already clinched a spot in the OCAA final four, Durham is now fighting for positioning in the championship. The Lords are 9-8 and trail the Fanshawe Falcons (10-6) by a game and a half. After a single game against Humber (11-5) on Thursday, the Lords will close out the regular season on Saturday at home against the Falcons.

Ilija Bozinovski (Ajax, Ont.) earned his fourth win of the season in game one, pitching a complete game, four-hit shutout. Bozinovski only needed 75 pitches to retire 21 outs, as he struck out an impressive 12 batters. Bozinovski's four wins is the second highest total in the OCAA this season. He is also second in strikeouts recorded with 30 on the year.

The Lords pitching performance in game two was just as impressive, as they held the Sting to just one hit. Jordan Edmonds (Horsham, U.K.) allowed two runs, none of which were earned, off of one hit, three walks in 3 1/3 innings of work. Dakota Parsons (Pickering, Ont.) came into the game in relief and shutdown the Sting with no hits or walks allowed.

Thomas Fearon (Ajax, Ont.) had a great night at the plate, combining to go 3-for-5 with eight runs batted in. Catcher Jack Lang (Pickering, Ont.) was perfect in game two with three hits, one walk with three RBIs.

First pitch against Humber on Thursday night is 7 p.m. at Kinsmen Memorial Stadium.
