ST. CLAIR 1, DURHAM 0

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College men's baseball team (10-2) split a doubleheader with Durham College (10-4) Saturday winning the opening game 1-0 but dropping the second game 10-9.

Rookie Saints pitcher Austin Oulds (Chatham, Ont.) went the distance in the opener for the shut out win spreading out four hits and striking out eight Durham batters while surrendering only one walk. St. Clair catcher Eric Cunningham (LaSalle, Ont./St. Thomas of Villanova) went 2-for-2 at the plate with a single and double scoring the game's only run in the third inning.

St. Clair fell behind 9-3 in the fifth inning of the second game before tying it up 9-9 in the sixth inning. However, the Saints surrendered the winning run in the seventh inning but still had their chance stranding two runners in the bottom half letting their comeback bid fall just short. Cunningham had another good game at the plate for St. Clair with three hits while scoring three runs. Crannel Jerald (LaSalle, Ont./Sandwich), Roberto Duncan (Panama City, Panama) and Matt Sykes (LaSalle, Ont./St. Thomas of Villanova) each chipped in two hits apiece for the Saints in the loss.

The Saints will take on Humber College (7-5) in Etobicoke on Sunday at Connorvale Park in another doubleheader with game times of 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
