ST. CLAIR MEN'S BASEBALL 3-1 AND INTO NATIONAL SEMIFINALS

OSHAWA, Ont. - The St. Clair College men's baseball finished pool play with a 3-1 record after splitting a pair of games on Friday at the national invitational championship in Oshawa, Ont. The Saints dropped their morning game to host Durham College by a score of 3-0 but rebounded for a resounding 8-0 victory over Collège Ahuntsic from Montreal.

Mitchell Gault (Tecumseh) was named Player of the Game for St. Clair against Durham but suffered the loss on the mound after giving up a pair of runs on seven hits over 4 1/3 innings. Curtis Cunningham (LaSalle) continued with his hot bat thumping a pair of singles and added a stolen base for the Saints in the game.

In the second game, Saints starter Kaine Doumani (Brantford) worked five innings for the win on the bump to earn Player of the Game honours. Doumani gave up only one hit while striking out seven Ahuntsic batters. Jordan Pine (Garden River) had a double and three RBIs for St. Clair in the win.

St. Clair advances to the semifinal on Saturday at 10 a.m. against Holland College (Charlottetown) which is being played at Ritson Field. The winner of that game qualifies for the gold medal game against the winner of Fanshawe and Durham. The championship final is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday at Kinsmen Stadium.
